NEW HIX® EVO TOUCH SideKick Heat Transfer Machines

The NEW HIX® SideKick Heat Transfer Machines are a manual heat press offering the convenience of a twin platen heat transfer machine with the proven reliability of our exclusive top-down linkage system. Providing 1200lbs of force with very little effort. The SideKick20 (show to the right) will help improve production output by allowing the operator to work continuously with two stations. The easy movement of the manually operated head gives easy access to the lower platen for precise placements at an affordable price. 100% made in the USA.

The SideKick utilizes all the new features included with the EVO Series. Including a new FULL COLOR LCD touchscreen controller that offers the users more control and setting options, a full metal enclosure, and improved molded lower platen pad for improved performance for multiple applications. The lower base also integrates shirt splitters into the base, no additional equipment needed. This unique cantilever design allows the operator to easily open "split" a shirt onto the press to eliminate the need for stuffing or protecting the back side of the shirt when only one side is needing to be printed. This speeds up production and cuts down on accidental bleed through from the front to the back of the shirt because the back of the shirt is kept completely away from the heat. Match this with a Deluxe Pad Protector to increase the longevity of the lower pad and create a smooth surface for the shirt to easily slide on and off the lower platen. And as it always has been, HIX presses are 100% designed and manufactured in the USA. These new presses are sure to meet the needs of any shop large or small.

Clamshell or Swing-away? That's the question!

As a company that makes both clamshell and swing-away heat presses, we are frequently asked this question by inquiring customers. The answer depends on the type of jobs you want to accept, the space available, your familiarity with transfer presses, and your need for accurate placement of the design versus the speed of production.

Each design has its unique advantages. The task for the customer is to pick the one with the right combination of benefits that fits the intended business purpose.

Swing-away heat presses are very popular for sublimation printing. Air-automatic heat presses are the model of choice in fast-paced high production facilities. Digital, manual clamshell presses are most popular in a wide variety of applications with small to medium size volume requirements. Analog swing-away and clamshell presses are most often purchased by hobbyists, for small projects, or as a backup for a larger, digital model.

No heat press is perfect for every purpose. So, the pros and cons of the available features have to be considered.
